Hi, I'm Dr. Brent Parrott, I have over 30 years experience, I love to mentor, and I'm looking for another dentist to join me here in Oroville, California. I'll be straight with you: we have more patients wanting care than we have hands to treat them, and that's exactly the kind of “problem” I'd like your help solving.
A little about us. We’ve been here over 18 years and are an almost entirely fee-for-service practice — we're only in-network with one dental plan, no Delta Dental, and we don't deal with medical insurance at all. That means our patients are here because they trust us, not because a plan is steering them to us, and it means you get to practice dentistry without haggling with insurance companies over what “necessary” means. We never double-book, we don't do high-pressure treatment plans, and we genuinely try to work within a patient's budget rather than oversell them. It's a nicer way to practice, and it shows in how many people keep coming back (and referring their friends).
The setup. We've got 9 treatment rooms, all digital, chartless, and outfitted with a Cerec and Medit scanner and an in-house Glidewell mill so we can do same-day zirconia crowns. We also use AI-assisted X-ray evaluation to help catch things earlier and back up your clinical judgment — a second set of eyes that never gets tired. Add in electrosurg, Wave One, digital X-rays, and modern electric handpieces, and you've got everything you need to actually enjoy your day instead of fighting your equipment. You'll also have plenty of support — experienced assistants, hygienists, and front office team who know how to keep things running smoothly so you can focus on patients, not paperwork.
If you're newer to practice, I'll personally mentor you — I want you comfortable, confident, fast, and gentle before I hand you the reins, not thrown into the deep end. If you've got years of experience already, you'll fit right in with a team that's built to move quickly without cutting corners.
Compensation. You'll get a solid base pay plus bonus potential, a signing bonus, and — if you're relocating — possibly a relocation stipend to help make the move easier. On top of that, we offer health insurance, dental benefits for you and your family, a 401(k), tuition reimbursement, and professional development assistance. We want this to be a place you actually want to build a career, not just a stop along the way.
Where you'll actually be living. Oroville sits in the foothills of Northern California with lakes, rivers, and mountains right out your back door — think hiking, biking, horseback riding, water skiing, floating down the river, snow skiing, fishing, camping, and hunting, all within reach. The office itself is close to the freeway with ample parking, so your commute (and your patients') is easy and stress-free. If you want a bit more city energy now and then, Chico is about 25 minutes away, Sacramento is roughly an hour and a half, and Reno (yes, casinos and Lake Tahoe skiing) is about 2.5 hours out. So you get the quiet, affordable, outdoor-lover's life — with civilization never more than a short drive away.
